2008 Video Game Awards

My 2008 Game of the Year Awards are out!

Check them out Here.

True, they may be a little later than is usual, but it took time to finish some of last year's best titles. And it was a year full of best titles!

2008 was the greatest year yet for gaming, hands down. With 3 next-gen consoles thriving, PC still seeing strong support, and 2 hand-held systems on the market, it was a year with plenty of variety. Every established genre saw new stellar games this year, and some new genres even emerged.

Even traditionally scarce genres saw support this year. Fighting fans got Soul Calibur IV, the first next-gen Mortal Kombat, and of course the newest Super Smash Bros. The horror genre, typically dominated by Capcom's Resident Evil, saw a number of new series, including Dead Space, Left 4 Dead, and Alone in the Dark, while Condemned and Silent Hill saw sequels. RTS's on consoles, and the horror genre.

Consoles even got some good RTS's for a change, with Civilization Revolution, Tom Clancy's EndWar, and Red Alert 3.

But what are you hanging around here for? Go check out the full awards!
